Fly a landing pattern as If to land but do not touch the ground. Power up and resume flying The approach should be such that the plane could be landed if desired. The examiner is watching for good control during down-wind, base and filal legs and a good progressive throttle up to go around. This maneuver is an important safety aspect and it demonstrates that you are competent to perform a go around in the event of an emergency.
