QUINAPOXET MODEL FLYING CLUB

Who Are We?:
The Quinapoxet Model Flying Club is a R/C aircraft club with fields located off River Street in Holden, MA. and rt110 in Lancaster at an area known as "Bolton Flats". As a club, we seek to promote the R/C hobby through the flight instruction, building and flying of radio controlled aircraft, in accordance with both AMA and club rules.

Visiting flyers (with AMA) are welcome to fly at our fields while accompanied by a QMFC club member. Non-flyers are welcome as spectators. Please, no pets. Click here for detailed directions.

Upcoming Club Events:

Summer Air Show and Picnic:
Do you want that elusive "Free lunch"? Well of course you do. You can get it here - well, not exactly. Two years ago we had our very successful "Inaugural Air Show and Picnic" (click here to see a video). We planned to do the same last year but then along came the hurricane season which completely dashed our hopes. So we never did have the 2nd Annual Air Show and Picnic in 2008. We now plan to make up for it in 2009 with our resurrected "2nd Annual Air Show and Picnic" for the residents of Holden, Massachusetts and surrounding towns. This is our way to say "Thank you" to the good folks who live and work in Holden that allow us to continue our sport in their town. The date is Sunday July 19. Other details are still being worked on but you can click here to get the latest and greatest information as it emerges. But never forget; Entry to spectators is completely free. If you have any questions please email The event CD

Winter Projects Night:
This was the first time QMFC hosted a Winter Projects Night. It was quite a success with 10 displays. To see pictures please click on the appropriate link. Clearly the treat was Mitch's Waco which was "Stitch perfect". Mitch is certainly a craftsman. Colin finally assembled the re-built C-47 although it is not quite flyable yet. Butch displayed 2 items - his fantastic 1/3 Laser (w/G-62) (Picture 1, Picture 2) and a very inovative (and "Green" field box that utilizes solar panels for it's power (Picture 1, Picture 2). Bob Dalbec showed us the beautiful Demoiselle. Bob Daw presented his re-covered Falcon 56 and Nathan Wiebe demonstrated the add-on bomb drop mechanism to his WWII German fighter. Electric weren't forgotten either. Our very own prez, Marc Gendron had his very brand new e-Yak and Mike Emery showed us his e-P-51. We had a visitor, Reuvens (Fogive please, if spelling is incorrect) who is an accomplish chopper pilot brought in a JR heli.

Club Information:

What do we do?:
We primarily focus on R/C sports, sport scale, pattern and scale aerobatics. We also have quite a Gremlin combat following. We do have a few club members who fly helicopters at the field. Other members who like to fly gliders or compete in racing events tend to belong to other clubs. Most of us either build our own planes or assemble ARF's (Almost Ready to Fly) aircraft. If you'd like to see some of our building projects click here.

Flight Instruction & Flight Tests:
The QMFC encourages new members to the club and to the hobby. go to "Getting Started" for more information on joining this hobby. Therefore, we maintain a staff of very experienced Flight Instructors. Flight instruction is free of charge to QMFC members in good standing. See more information under "Our Club". Click on either Basic Level or Advanced Level to see our flight qualifying programs.

Club Meetings:
Club meetings are held at Paul's McCulley's house on the second Monday of each month except for July and August. All members and visitors are welcome to come along. For directions please contact the webmaster or call 978-779-9860. The December meeting is our annual Holiday Party.
